Kentucky Derby Hero California Chrome Looks To Annex Second Jewel Of Triple Crown; Hialeah Park Also Offers Miami Heat Playoff Games, 80s Dance Music Free Style Parties

Hialeah, FL / May 7, 2014 – Hialeah Park Race Track & Casino will continue to be the “go to” entertainment destination for all sports fans and music lovers in the South Florida area, offering a variety of options to its patrons during the month of May.

The iconic horse racing venue will offer “watch and wager” simulcasting of thoroughbred racing from Pimlico, including the 139th running of The Preakness, on Saturday May 17, 2014. Kentucky Derby winner California Chrome (shown above), who beat 18 other three-year-olds as the wagering choice in the 140th Kentucky Derby May 3, is expected to be a heavy public choice to win the 2nd jewel of racing’s Triple Crown and put himself in a position to become the first Triple Crown champion since Affirmed in 1978.

Starting the night of Saturday May 17, music lovers and dance aficionados will have a weekly opportunity to enjoy an 80s Dance Music Free Style Party with a live DJ from 10 PM-2 AM in the Flamingo Lounge of the casino.

NBA basketball fans can watch all Miami Heat playoff games against the Brooklyn Nets on large flat screen monitors located throughout the Hialeah Park Casino on the slot floor and in the poker room. Beer and drink specials will be available during all Heat playoff games.
