Hialeah, FL / January 3, 2015 – Ten three-year-old Quarter Horses are scheduled to face the starter in Sunday’s featured Mockingbird Stakes at 250 yards, the 7th race on Hialeah Park’s eight-race program January 4.

Jess A Rogue, a bay filly owned and bred by the Triple M Farms LLC of Louisiana, was installed as the 2-1 morning line favorite when entries were drawn December 28.

The filly will be saddled for the first time in her Hialeah Park debut by trainer Judd Kearl, who will give his first-call rider Rodrigo Vallejo a leg up.

Jess A Rogue, by Heza Fast Dash out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Miss Jess Rogue, won the first two races of her career this Spring at Delta Downs, including a victory in the $84,000 Old South Futurity at 330 yards.

Since then, she has run only twice, failing to win and unable to qualify for the Firecracker Futurity at Delta Downs and the Evangeline Downs Futurity.

Her primary challengers in the Mockingbird include a pair of horses who have already run once this season at Hialeah Park: the gelding Madmax and the colt Ipolito.

Both of those runners came up short in their attempts to qualify for the rich $417,575 Hialeah Derby on January 18. Madmax stumbled at the start of his trial and finished 7th of 8. Ipolito also encountered trouble, ducking in after the start before gaining 3rd in the final trial of the day on December 27.

The field for the 2015 Mockingbird, from the rail out, will be: 1) All About Dash, 2) Jmf Jess Sweet, 3) Apollitical Lady, 4) Cme Leaving You, 5) Ipolito, 6) Jess A Rogue, 7) Louisiana Legends, 8) Madmax, 9) Lg Zzrun, and 10) Streakin Lil Chick.

Hialeah Park Racing & Casino, with entrances at 100 East 32nd Street and 2200 East 4th Avenue, is easily accessible from all major Miami highways and conveniently located just minutes by car from Miami International Airport, South Beach, Downtown Miami, Coral Gables, and Doral.
