Outdoor Performance Friday August 7 Tops Preview Weekend Of 2nd Anniversary Celebration
Hialeah, FL / July 17, 2015 – With Hialeah Park’s second anniversary celebration fast approaching on August 14-15, South Florida’s premier gaming and entertainment destination will get a head start on the festivities with a “preview weekend” outdoor performance by the popular Hialeah band Electric Piquete.
The talented and locally founded group, voted as the Best Latin Band of 2015 by the Miami New Times, will perform from 8 PM – 10 PM on the Fountain Terrace, Hialeah Park’s newly renovated outdoor music venue located adjacent to the Casino. Michael Mut, bassist/vocalist and spokesman for Electric Piquete, commented, “I consider this show a homecoming. It’s a homecoming for me and for the band. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than to play at such a historic venue as Hialeah Park.”
Mut, who formed Electric Piquete with drummer/percussionist/vocalist Ed Rosado in 2007, is a Hialeah native who says he has always held a special reverence for Hialeah Park.
“I grew up just a few blocks away from Hialeah Park and I was always in awe of it as a child and even as an adult. My music all comes from the city –Hialeah– and it’s a huge part of who I am.”
Earning Miami New Times recognition as Best Latin Band for a second time, Electric Piquete drew strong words of praise, with reviewers calling the band “the José Martí of Miami’s Latin Funk scene.”
“It’s a huge honor to be able to turn that around and give back to the people of Hialeah, to be able to play our music for them, and to be a part of a great anniversary celebration at Hialeah Park,” added Mut.
