Lara To Defend World Super Welterweight Title At Hialeah Park
Cuban-born Champion Erislandy Lara Will Face Jan Zaveck On Wednesday, November 25;
PBC ON ESPN Boxing Event Set For Worldwide Telecast
Hialeah, FL / October 12, 2015 – Popular Cuban-born world champion boxer Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara will defend his WBA World Super Welterweight title against veteran European fighter Jan Zaveck in a 12-round bout at Hialeah Park on Wednesday, November 25, the day before Thanksgiving.
The main event will be the feature attraction of an action-packed card beginning at 6:00 PM ET promoted by Warriors Boxing in association with Hialeah Park Casino.
Tickets for the November 25 boxing spectacular at Hialeah Park will go on sale Friday, October 16, at noon. Seats can be purchased online through Ticket Force at Tickets.ticketforce.com or at the Casino Cage at Hialeah Park.
The 32-year-old Lara, now based in Houston, will bring his stellar record of 21-2-2 (12 KOs) into the fight, which will be telecast to a worldwide audience on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.
In his two most recent outings, Lara won his current crown with a victory by unanimous decision over Ishe Smith in December of 2014 and then successfully defended the title with a unanimous decision victory over Delvin Rodriguez in June of this year.
Zaveck, known as “Mr. Sympathicus,” owns a ring record of 35-3-0 (19 KOs). He has registered three consecutive victories in Europe since his last fight in the United States, a loss by unanimous decision to Keith Thurman in 2013.
