Ben DeYurre has been a longtime horse racing fan and handicapper. He was born in La Habana, Cuba and raised in Venezuela.

At the young age of 11, Ben began to collect books on horse racing and breeding, eventually becoming a true pedigree expert.  In college, DeYurre earned his credentials in Economics and Journalism. Ben worked in a variety of positions for 14 years at the top race track in Venezuela. In the United States, he has been a businessman and entrepreneur as well as a columnist for El Nuevo Heraldo of Miami.

For the past two years, Ben has joined Hialeah Park for the live racing season as the Hispanic “voice” on race days at the track, handicapping the races and offering his expert advice to the on-track horseplayers.
