HIALEAH PARK HANDLES $483,702 FROM ALL WAGERING SOURCES, SETS NEW QH HANDLE RECORD
Hialeah, FL / February 16, 2014 – The all-sources wagering handle at Hialeah Park on Sunday February 16 topped out at $483,702 to establish a new single-day high for Quarter Horse racing in South Florida.
The total handle exceeded the previous record of $405,906 set on Monday January 6, 2014 by $77,976.
Director of Simulcasting Peter Aiello credited the huge wagering day to a variety of factors, “We have worked all season long to establish brand identity at TVG, we benefitted because of multiple cancellations at Eastern tracks, and racing secretary Matt Crawford put together a competitive card with big fields.”
Hialeah Park will close out a four-day weekend with a Monday afternoon program on President’s Day February 17. First post, as always, is at 12:35 PM ET.
After Monday’s races, only two days will remain on the 2013-14 Quarter Horse racing calendar in South Florida. The track will offer stakes-rich cards on Saturday February 22 and Sunday February 23 to bring the curtain down on what has been a highly successful fifth season of Quarter Horse racing at Hialeah Park.
