Hialeah, FL / June 18, 2014 – Hialeah Park Racing & Casino will continue its ongoing efforts to offer the best pay-per-view boxing matches to fight fans in South Florida by showing the much-anticipated meeting between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (43-1-1, 31 KOs) of Mexico and Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara (19-1-2, 12 KOs), a native of Cuba now based in the United States.
Billed as the “Honor & Glory” matchup, the 12-round title fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday July 12 will feature a pair of fighters considered the top two junior-middleweights in the world battling for the WBA championship currently held by Lara. Lara is undefeated in his last 5 bouts dating back to the only defeat of his career at the hands of the ultra-tough Paul Williams in 2011. Alvarez knocked out Alfredo Angulo in March after tasting defeat for the first time in a dual-title fight last September against the undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
